Change in Lunch Schedule
Starting Monday, Washington’s lunch schedule will be changing:
K-3 will go to lunch from 11:40a-12:25p
K-1 will eat first from 11:40a-12:05p and play from 12:05p-12:25p
2-3 will play first from 11:40a-12:05p and eat from 12:05p-12:25p
4-5 lunch will be from 12:25p-1:10p
4-5 will play from 12:25p-12:50p and eat from 12:50p-1:10p

Mad Science After School Session has 9 spots available!
The eight week course runs from April 14th through June 2nd and is open to grades 1-5. Classes are held Wednesdays from 2-3p. Register online at: http://register.madscience.org/southbay/ (choose the Washington SL location) and see the attached flyer for more details.
Bulletin Board Spruce Up – Friday, April 16th
Help teachers by revamping bulletin boards with new student work next Friday, April 16th. For more information, contact Lisa Jackson at lisarjackson@sbcglobal.net or 510-633-9874.
Nutrition Connection: Family Day in the Garden – Thursday, April 29th
On Thursday, April 29th from 2:30 – 5:30p, take part in nutrition and gardening activities and sample some healthy tastings. Parent volunteers are needed for smoothie and snack preparation, supervising children in the garden, and sign creation (painting or with markers) for plants. Washington Yard Sale – Saturday, May 1st
Mark your calendar for Washington’s first ever yard sale fundraiser, being held on Saturday, May 1st from 8a to 2p on the front lawn of the school. We need your gently used items: clean clothing, DVDs, books, working appliances, toys, games, etc. Please bring your donations to the school on Friday, April 30th. Additionally, volunteers are needed for Friday, April 30th to help organize and price donated items as well as on Saturday, May 1st to help set up, with sales and for clean up. Washington/Roosevelt Auction – Saturday, May 8th
Tickets are available for the Washington/Roosevelt auction being held at the Veteran’s Hall in San Leandro on May 8th from 5-10p. Advance tickets are $20/person and include dinner and dessert, dancing, mystery raffle and door prizes, and more! Tickets can be purchased at the door for $25/person. We also need your donations… Do you have a skill or your own business? Are you a baker, caterer, babysitter, handyman, mechanic, beautician, seamstress, music teacher or performer (or much much more!)? Donate your time, goods or skills! Bottles of wine, artwork, gift certificates… if you have an idea for a donation, please contact Kathryn Gholson kathryngholson@netscape.net or 510-632-9811 with questions, donations and to purchase tickets.
